Default A/c sounds like if it farts, what's wrong?

Yet another problem with my 99 xj! Now my A/C sounds like its farting and seems to be leaking something from the back of the compressor. Does anyone know what it his problem is?A/C cools really good but I've been having a problem with the overheating . When the temp gauge goes into the red the A/C warms up but then cools. Like I said now it farts and seems to be leaking like an oil from the back.

It's probably leaking compressor oil, either it's badly overcharged and blowing the relief valve or the compressor has an issue. Probably not a blockage if it's cooling properly.
I'd put a gauge set on there to see what the pressure readings are.

My 98 did that one time when my son over filled with freon. I guess the is a check valve in the back of the compressor. Once I drained out a little freon it stop blowing the check valve.

System was vacumed and didnt even go through the 2nd can of freon. Gauges say its ok on the low side but not on the high side.

Failed IIRC valve I believe it is called, caused by worn out valve, overcharging and or blockages. Replace valve and see if it does it again?

My old compressor did the same thing. Nothing else was replaced only the vacum was done on it.

So where's it coming from?

And what's this: .....overheating....red zone....?

Indeed!

Looks like your AC compressor is the least of your worries if the coolant temp gauge gets into the RED.

Yea, all of that is going on. I was told that the condensor might be clogged. It does look pretty bad from the outside and thinking this might be why it overheats. Radiator is new and fan clutch appears to be good. I am getting ready to replace condensor, accumilator, and liquid tube while im at it. I also thought of replacing the fan clutch with a ZJ fan clutch.

Hey it's your Jeep but if it were mine, I'd spend my money on the overheating engine first before I spent another dime on A/C.
