hey all,
new guy here.
I've got 3 cherokees, one wife drives daily (95 4 doot stock) and I'm working on a project 87 XJ 2 door, 4.0 5 speed 4" lift (approx get to that later) I'm swapping engines. Third is a parts XJ.

MY 87 appears to be an old forest jeep, no a/c, the parts jeep has A/C.
Has anyone added factory A/C to thier XJ that did not have it? How involved was the changing out under dash assemblies in the prcess?

I have never done it on an XJ ( but soon on a YJ) I dont thnk it would be to bad just time comsuming. If you have all the parts take a crap load of pics and move all the parts over.

 

once you finish installing the a/c, i will pay you for your pulley that was in the location where you will install the compressor for the a/c. I need once badly.

I have done it. You probably have the wiring harness there for it. But if not, you will have to get it. You will have to pull the dash and replace the blower housing with the evaporator core in it. That is the hardest part. Then add the filter drier under the hood and pump and brackets etc. You probably have the wiring you need for this too.
