A/C Problems

The AC system has a pressure sensitive switch on it that prevents the compressor from coming on if it's too low on freon. Just adding freon might be a temporary fix, but the old freon went somewhere.. you may be dealing with a leak. You can test this theory by removing the connector and jumping the connectors to put it in the compressor on state. Google or search here for how to on that.
If you re-charge it, and it still doesn't run, the magnetic clutch in the compressor pulley could be bad. (jumping the wires described above is what sends the juice to the emagnet which engages the compressor)
Could be other stuff, but i'd suspect low freon first.
edit: shorting the wires is only for testing.. do NOT jump the wires and force the compressor to run all the time.. bad things will happen
