A/C Heater Control
I've got a 2000 cherokee and I've only got low (1) and high(4) on my heater control nothing in between like tyhe 2 and 3 position. Does this mean my heater control is gone or what else could it be?
This is what it looks like,

It sounds like your switch is bad. Post the item number from ebay.
I had this happen to my 2000 XJ a few months ago. The blower motor resistor was shot. It's located behind the glove box and you can swap it out in just 20 minutes of work. $39.95 at: http://www.teamgrandwagoneer.com/cgi...istor&catid=95 Good luck!
First, you should probably disconnect your battery when doing electrical repairs so nothing (including you) gets fried. To do the repair you'll need a standard tool kit with a phillips screwdriver and socket wrenches. There are screws underneath the glove box that you can take out, and then the whole glove box can be taken off. Behind the glove box there's a black plastic kick plate which you might need to loosen and move to the side. One of the things behind it is the blower motor resistor. Unscrew it from the heater/ac housing, then you can unsnap the wire harness that goes to it (similar to unhooking a standard telephone cable). My old blower motor resistor was rusted beyond belief. You can then plug the wire harness into the new resistor, and screw it back into place. At this point you can reattach your battery, turn the key to the run position and check your fan settings. If it works on all speeds, all you have to do is reattach the black plastic kick plate and the glove box and you're good to go. If you're worried about getting zapped, disconnect the battery again before reassembling everything.
