bypassing the old disconnect axle?

bypassing the old disconnect axle?
If I replace my buddies 89 mj pass. side axle with a one piece will that work? I can get a 94 pass. side axle.

if you swap in a full lenght axle shaft to eliminate the collar box you will need to replace the inner axle seal on the passenger side of the diff
