Default Buying MIG welder

I'm doing floor in Jeep. Funds running low. Looking at MIG welders on Craig's List.

I have the chance to get either a used Solar 2114 MIG welder w/either flux wire or argon hook up for somewhere around 100 - 150.00 or I have a chance at a new Fluxcore 125 MIG welder which I believe is just flux core wire for roughly 160.00. Which would you suggest?

Should I go with the older Solar because of the argon ability. How much will it cost me for the argon tank and argon? It has the guages to hook up. Is it more difficult to set up the argon and regulate it?

Any info would really be appreciated. Thanks

Go for the argon welder, you'll get better welds. The bottles do not cost that much. I paid around 8 bucks to exchange mine. Get a good quality self changing welding helmet, it makes life a lot easier for welding.

Totally agree. Way batter to start with gas.

You can pick up a descent sized gas bottle on craigslist for $75-$100.

I paid like $160? For a filled 75/25 argon 120 bottle. Should last a LONG time. You'll want the argon for doing the floors

Most welding supply stores will have a bottle exchange program.
