I went and looked at an '89 Cherokee Pioneer yesterday. The guy said that it had been sitting since November of last year but we jumped it off and heard it run and it sounds pretty good. I started giving it some gas and it cut off and wouldn't cut back on though. It just made a clicking noise. I'm guessing the battery just needs to be charged?! He said that the reason why it cut off is probably because of the injectors. He had a mechanic look at it awhile back and the guy told him it needed injectors. It looks almost identical to my last Cherokee that I wrecked one month ago today It has a clean interior, barely any rust(it's surface only, no rust holes) and it only has 141,XXX miles on it which is relatively low for an XJ. The best part is that it's only $300 and I get to drive it home! I'm going to pick it up today at 1. I'm so damn excited!!

 

check the connections on the starter

 

Sounds good deal as above check starter motor connections if it just clicks after charging battery

 

might have bad gas and the battery might be bad also sounds like a steal for 300
