buying 98 cherokee need input fast
hello today i just took a look at it and its lifted 4.5in with rubicon kit and 31in tires actually heres all the info that he listed
or Sale: 1998 Jeep Cherokee
This is the cleanest Jeep Cherokee you will find in the entire area. There is not one inch of rust on the vehicle (Southwestern car) and has a slick 4.5" Rubicon Lift with SYE and Tom Woods Custom CV driveshaft. Its trail ready with 31 inch BF Goodrich All Terrain Tires on it and a strong engine. No work has to be done on the vehicle its ready to drive, however the AC has been acting funny most likely needs a refill.
4WD does work.
4.0L with 158k miles on it and transfer case had a SYE installed in it for driveline vibration reduction last year.
now i have a few questions while driving it the steering wheel seems loose and is off center a lil bit, meaning its a lil to the left to keep the car going straight ?? any idea what that might be and is that a big problem ?
another thing is the breaks are hard like stiff when you step on them,
and he is asking 2500 dollars but most likely its gona go down around 1800 to 2000.
last thing is he lifted it and changed the axles and everything so its all aligned and theres this one part the front control arm cv joints makes this small clicking noise he said its for the wheels to tilt in and out when offroading. Is this right? as its my first jeep and dont know much about it but he said it was part of the whole rubicon suspesion kit.
so what do u guys think about it as im going tomorow for sure and most likely buying it but i want more input and what might the problems be that i listed so incase its bad i wont buy it.
thank you very much as i do need help with this

crooked steering wheel is no biggie, happens anytime you lift a jeep the draglink just needs to be adjusted. im not understanding the control arm cv joints question? do you have any pics of this thing?

Sounds good, just in-need of adjustment. I'd bet he didn't do an alignment after the lift, no big deal, you can Do it yourself in an hour. Probably has a bad U-joint in the front axle. Pics would be helpfull, some of the front suspension in particular. Price is excellent even at 2500, if you can get it do better. If the motor and tranny feel good, i'd buy it. Brakes can be fixed cheaply, might just need to be bled or have the fluid flushed.

Rubicon uses what they cals super flex control arms, really just a different kind of bushing. Doesn't explain the clicking, that is either a bad U-joint or a Locker (wishfull thinking).
