Butterfly Stop Screw issue?

Butterfly Stop Screw issue?
I am having a high idle issue on my stock 88 Renix. I'm going through all minor issues and slowly eliminating possible issues.
I noticed after cleaning my TB that the butterfly stop screw is not doing what I would expect it to do. With the butterfly valve fully open I can see the stop screw isn't protruding through the hole. From what I can tell through research, it is supposed to physically touch the butterfly valve, but cannot because it is too short.
Am I correct on assuming that this screw is supposed to touch the butterfly?
Does anyone have a picture of their stop screw or a part # for a replacement that I can compare to mine to see if mine has sheared off?
I can post a picture tomorrow to help with a visual.

The stop screw should only keep the throttle plate from banging against the bore. It is not used as an idle adjustment. Idle is controlled by the IAC valve.
High idle on the Renix 4.0 is often caused by a vacuum leak. Check your intake manifold bolts.
