Default Busted radiator hose, need advice

So I'm fairly new to the whole jeep thing, on the way home from the store last night my upper radiator hose got a hole in it. So I stopped let her cool down put more antifreeze and finish the 1/4 mile drive home. She never got over about 150 degrees (but in that short of a drive in 15 degree weather she normally wouldnt get over 100) so I replaced the hose today and just wanna see if you guys think I should be keeping and eye for anything beside the obvious, which is overheating. The engine never got "hot" but fpr the circumstance 150 is very hot, just wanna make sure i didnt damage anything else from it warming up that fast. It's an 88 xj by the way

Ok good, thanks. I manage to find the one jeep that doesn't like 210. Which is nice in the summer when it's 100 outside and I can drive down the freeway at 155, but sucks in the winter when it won't got hot enough to run the heater lol

Sounds like you may have a bad t-stat. Coolant temp should be at least 195 after 20 minutes of driving or so.

Wouldn't this cause it to over heat when it's hot out though?

No. Use this thermostat and this one only. Nice heat in the winter. Proper operating temp summer and winter.

$23 at the dealer.

What u must understand is that a properly functioning t-stat does one thing only....control minimum coolant. The rest of the cooling system along with it's conditiion, ambient temp and driving conditions determine max coolant temp.
