Busted Brake Cylinder
So a stupid move on my part got me a busted brake cylinder that is dripping brake fluid.
It will be this weekend before I can do anything so and I assume that it will keep dripping out until the system is dry... My question is - once I make the repair can I do a simple bleed @ the wheels or is my master cylinder going to need to be bled as well? Anyone else I’m missing?
TIA

Do the standard bleeding procedure at the wheels first then do the master cylinder last. No need to remove it from the vehicle. Do it just like you do at the wheels loosening each line. Your brake light will probably want to stay lit after your done. Pushing HARD on the pedal will reset the switch letting the light go out.

If it's not too late you can get a locking plier like thing to clamp off the brake hose while you wait. Might save you having air all the way to the front.

I've had the inside of the brake line collapse then cause the caliper to stick as a result of doing this so I would not recommend clamping the line. That said, I've also had the brake system leak slowly until nothing else came out and was able to bleed it normally without having to do anything special for the master cylinder, so I suspect you will be fine.

You might have to have the jeep running to get the vacuum assist to put out the brake light when your all done... I haven't had much luck stepping hard on the pedal
