brake light on master cylinder leaking or brake booster?

brake light on master cylinder leaking or brake booster?
ok my brake light has come on and i think my master cylinder is leaking but it looks like the brake booster but i dont hear any hissing but its very wet with brake fluid pedal is very spongie.

you should have a vacum assited brake booster so it would would not leak anything and even if it was hydraulic power booster it would be power steering fluid not brake fliud.

usaully when vacume asist boosters go bad they get really hard brake pedal. You can test the master cylinder by putting some vise gripe's on your rubber brake lines to clamp them of then pump up the pedal if it stays stiff your master cyl is good if it goes down then the master is most likely bad.

its leaking right around the booster so its def the master cylinder but i dont know why the brake light is on

well the brake light comes on with the e-brake lever also so you might want to look at that switch or activater what ever you want to call it it my be sticking fron something getting spilled down there give it a look also. or just have gone bad.

You need to change the master cylinder. The dash brake light comes on when it's low on fluid. Don't drive it anymore till you fix it.

to add to that just because you add fluid and the resivoir is full does not mean you dont have an air pocket in the system that is keeping the light on so I would suggest bleeding the system out. Not to be an jerk do you know how to bleed a master cyl should you go to replace it yourself? there is a process. if you dont I can expalin step by step. HERE TO HELP
