bushings
Hi everyone, I am new here and I have some questions about bushings for my 1997 Cherokee 2WD sport with 110K miles
I have had it since '98 and its just a nice stock Jeep, I love it and I want to keep it stock.
I am looking into replacing worn suspension parts and among other parts I want to replace the bushings.
the only off road use it sees is the driveway, with that in mind do I buy OEM or urethane bushings.
I hear urethane can squeak.
also do I buy gas or OEM shocks for the best ride?
thanks a lot,
David

Bent, I would use the polyurathane bushings because of their longer life. They are easier to replace with a press but can be done with pullers and hand tools.
Since you are not going offroad OEM style shocks would be my choice. In fact I would go so far as to suggest Monroes.

I am with blue on this as well. Poly bushing will last longer but OEM rubber will make for a smoother quieter ride closer to stock.
On shocks like blue said some OEM replacement would be what I would go with. Good suggestion on the Monroes. Any parts house would have some quality replacement shocks.

x2 agreed, i'd say go all oem, get rubber bushings, and a set of monroe sensa-tracs, or monroe gas-matics wouldn't be too pricy, have a smooth ride, and could be found prolly at advanced, auto-zone, or napa
Hell my dad has monroes on his 70 Chevelle SS, they are adjustable air shocks cus of the bigger rear tires but still, they ride nice as hell!
