Default Bushing Replacement

All the bushings on my XJ are shot. They are all pretty much dried and cracked.
Has any one purchased and installed a complete bushing set? I read somewhere about needing a press to get some of the bushings out. I'm slowly working on the jeep and would like to do this for a project.

I'm thinking of replacing all of my bushings also, 2000 XJ. I saw there were no replys to this. Anyone have any experience tackling this project?

On some bushing you will have to press them in most of them are just a swap out I've done some but not all of them you can do it.

control arm bushings are easy if you have access to a shop press i don't think you're gonna do them with hammers..sway bar, transmission, and motor mounts are straight forward unbolt and bolt jobs

I Did the one on my axle this past weekend; I'm running a 3 link. I used a ball joint press and a socket, it worked like a boss. Also did U-Joints, on the axles, with the ball joint press too. I rented one from AutoZone to do my ball joints but I think I might just buy a decent one after seeing how useful it can be to have a hand held press. These are Moog and came from Advance; they're $15 for two. I think the only bushings on the jeep you can do without a press are the sway bar.

Froze the new one the night before I installed it.

Energy Suspension has universal sway bar brackets encase you don't want end link bushings; or have quick disconnects. Their standard bracket fits perfect and is only $16-ish. I think my sway bar is 25mm. Made a noticeable difference on body response; still no sports car.

Thanks for the great pictures and ideas. I have a mini shop press, about 5 or 6 tons. It works great on parts that you can take out and put up on the workbench. I was also hoping to do a mild (2 or 3 inch) lift in the future sometime. Would it just make sense to do all of this at once? What about ball joints at the same time and universals? My XJ is bone stock at this point and is somewhat rusty underneath.
Thanks

That's exactly what I just got done doing. I got my ball joints from these guys (http://completeoffroad.com/). From my research it seems go Spicer or go home.

The cardan joints I got are Spicer 760's

Just picked up my U-joints this morning so I'll finally have the Jeep back on all fours tonight!
