Default burnt rotor

I have a 99 4.0 L that has burnt up two rotors in about 5000 mi. total mi. 132000. I have replaced plugs + coil any suggestions???

Are you talking about the button in the distributor?

Check the magnets in the distributor also,change mine out yesterday made a huge differance.

Did you change the cap along with the rotor? could be a corroded/mangled contact in the cap causing arcing that is burning up the rotor.

I have changed rotor cap and coil ,I am thinking possible distributor problem or spark sensor if there is such a thing?? parts have been changed twice and still a problem!!

check the shaft in the distributer where the rotor sits and see if there is any play

The distributor is definetly suspect It appears to be fine but I will pull it and check again, Thanks
