So this might sound stupid but I have to ask so I don't waste my money.
I had a 96 Sport for about 10 years...finally had to get rid of it and I bought 2001 Sport. It came with a 4 inch lift when I bought it. I put new 31 in. tires on it the week I bought it.
My issues is that its so frickin bumpy...I literally feel every bump on the road. My 96 was never like this. Is it the stiffer springs from the lift kit?
My question is:
What can I do to get a smoother ride?
Can I replace the shocks? If so, what kind?
Replace softer springs?
Open to suggestions...I'm fine with it the way it is but I'd like to know if there are options. ...and yes I understand its a jeep and its for off-roading so please spare the condescending comments.
Thanks

Before you start throwing parts at it figure out what you have. Do you have full leaf packs and shackles? AAL's? Look for any markings on the lift parts, a lot of times you can find a part number and google it to find the manufacturer.

I'll give it a closer look.
The previous owner sprayed the bottom black with something covering a lot of the parts. It was to prevent from rusting I guess (or to cover something up). That's part of the reason I want to change some things out.
I bought it at an auction. There are some unknowns for me.
