getting ready to start bumper project any body ever use c channel to stiffen up front frame rails some time you just gotta take some trees down to make your own may out of the swamp

C channel would work well, I cheated and bought a JCR offroad stage III front bumper with the 1/4" plate frame tie ins....

My bumper is home made but we tied it into the "frame" with 1/4 inch steal plates. I am sure channel would work. IT would for sure be better then nothing.

im heading more into the 3/8 thick area with sc40 or 80 steel pipe also might need to take out a couple of hondas in traffic down in miami they jump out in front of me like deers do up north lol

I think its a good idea but don't use something excessive... You could actually get away with a non structural channel if you had some handy.

im going for strength cause the guys i wheel with all ther trucks are alot heavier than mine im going to use the bumper to ****** them out also

Sorry not much help not alot of weld expertise, and I'm not sure what your wanting to do, but my 2bits is why wouldnt the steel plates add enough strength?

it only goes along the sides im looking to make it more like a real frame so it dont just bend everthing side ways
