exactly the way it goes, just use both source spots,87, 87a,and you can use a lighted switch instead of that light, wires the same way

Another tip is battery maintenance. Try pouring water over the battery, then use some plain old baking soda around the entire surface but concentrate on where the posts are. You should see bubbles forming, this is the baking soda cleaning the corrosion off the battery. It wouldn't hurt to get an old tooth brush to move the baking soda around some to help clean. Do this with the cable clamps removed from battery, but make sure you clean both the battery and clamps. Before reconnecting rub some petroleum jelly (Vaseline) on the battery posts. This will help keep future corrosion to a minimum.

Well after a trip to get some more wire, a relay and a few terminals the lights are mounted and give off light!!!!

I have the lights grounded to their mounts
I have a bullet terminal on the end of each red line coming out of the lights
Both the bullet terminals plug into the green wire
The green wire then plugs into the relay
From the battery I have another red wire with a fuse running into the 30 spot on the relay
From the 85 spot on the relay i have a wire running into the top of the switch
From the 86 spot on the relay I have a wire running to a ground bolt
From the switch I have a wire running from the bottom port to a ground.

My problem however is I cant get the switch to turn the lights off. I think the problem is in the ground wires that run from the relay and the switch because even when i disconnected the ground wires the lights still lit up.
I tried the ground for the switch in two spots and neither of them worked.
Here was the first ground I tried

The second is the one in the photo above.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I hope you can understand this but if you have questions let me know.

Update:
I took out the relay and ran the Red power from the battery into the top of the switch and the Green wire that connects the lights into the bottom and everything worked perfect.
So could the problem be a bad relay?
I know it is safer to use on but if they work without one and not with one I see no reason to use one.

red to battery and switch, green from switch to lights, blue frome lights to ground.. Also, make sure you cover all exposed metal and such, cause if not youll blow fuses like crazy. thats what i did at first and couldnt figure out what was wrong just cover it in electrical tape before you put the grill back on
I'm going to take the relay back and try and get a new one,
But my next question is when mounting the switch in the dash how do i get the wires into the cab and how do you remove the blocks in the dash where you can mount the switch?
