Arrow Building my own INTAKE!

Hey guys, I'm building my own cold air intake for my Jeep. I have the 3 inch piping, all I got to do is cut it a bit, and buy some brackets, and the rubber peaces. K&N filters are sold at Canadian Tire, or Napa... now, I just have a question, am I missing anything?... Any suggestion, or tips before I start. lol... I just don't want to screw it up.

maybe a piece of flat stock you can bend up just to hold the tube in place, i've seen both with and without, otherwise sounds like you got it

Heres what my rusty's one looks like installed

i got an L bracket from home depot, you cant really see it from this angle and the self tapper was just to hold it to figure out where i wanted it, but you get the idea, it holds it up as not to suck in all the gunk and whatnot if it was just hanging down.

Funky color but kinda cool looking. Needs a splash guard to keep the filter dry when splashing through mud or water.

I kinda like the color, but painting the filter itself? It seems like that would seal it up a bit, contradicting the point of that style filter.

I'd put one on, but knowing me I'd forget it was there and go hit some puddles and find myself up in deep ****.

As long as your pipe has a bung on it for the AIT thingy (I think thats what the thing coming out of the valve cover with the hose on it is, correct me if i'm wrong) you should be good. Here's my setup.

The FULL heat shield, not just a baffle like most aftermarket kits. True cold air

Not the prettiest setup ever done, but by far one of the most effective!
