I have to ask....Did you mean have everything half covered in blue paint or did you just say screw it about overspray? THe paint is probably not good for that rubber hose. Im surprised it hasn't cracked.
Thats exactly the shade we used to paint my friends old winter beater escort. He didnt want to waste time masking the windows and lights. but it kinda looked like a light blue tint job that was dark along the edges but faded into the glass.

Be careful using Fernco couplings on that aluminum flex duct. It wont seal really good against the ridges on the pipe and over tightening the Fernco's clamp too much will just crush the pipe. I've seen it done before and it leaked like hell until we wrapped the flex duct with electrical tape to give the fernco a smooth surface to seal against. It would suck to kill your engine because all kinds of grit got in through a leak in your intake on a dusty trail.
