Carfax only shows reported accidents. If it wasn't reported than nobody knows about it, so how would they? I just figured that an old lady owned the Jeep from new, so if she was ever in an accident it was most likely reported. I guess I thought wrong. It never hurts to check Carfax, it's just not something to rely on.
If an owner takes a vehicle to a smaller shop and pays out of pocket that shop may or may not report to Carfax.
Insurance companies have a CLUE and so does Carfax.
CLUE is a database of claims that allows Insurance companies to share data between them.
CLUE is an acronym for --> Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange
CARFAX also pulls from Public Records --- if there is an accident and the police have to call a tow truck - a record is made of the VIN and damage area.
Other Carfax type services fo similar things.
Look on Ebay for vehicle sales ... the include a free report from some other organization. It's amazing the info they have including DMV title records.
But is some backyard mechanic wrecks his jeep in the woods and goes to the JY to buy parts and does the repair himself...he probably won't call Carfax and let them know!

no, just the front coils fit. rear leafs you can make a bastard pack using s10 or dakota leafs and the XJ main
Any accident damage paid for by an Insurance company gets reported no matter who does the work.

I Had a 2008 Dodge Ram and wrecked it twice
the second time was $16,000 dollars worth in damage. The insurance company repaired it both times. Lets just say rain and tunnel walls, and parking garages don't like me. I sold the truck... I pulled a carfax cause I was scared of what was in it, and the lady who bought the truck got a carfax.... NO ACCIDENTS OR DAMAGE REPORTED. Not sure what this proves. But I would say that its kinda like birth control about 99% effective lol That was in Hawaii too, so not sure if maybe certain states have different requirements concerning reporting info

This chart is great, I will be using it soon.
Thanks dukie, I appreciate it. Here is my next dumb question of the day. What gives you the actual lift with the bastard pack? You don't get 4" thicker leaf springs, so it must be arch, and spring rate/capacity? Please help this newb out. I need to lift my XJ to clear my JK Sahara 18" rims and 32" tires, and the wife has limited my budget... a lot.... and I live in wonderful Hawaii with some pretty hard to find junkyards and mostly outrageous prices on old rusty parts. (and yes, I know I need adapters to fit the rims. already taken care of)

a pack built XJ main - S10 main - S10 second - S10 overload i've heard usually nets around 4.5". play around with the combinations until you're happy.
And really, you don't need that much lift to clear 32s. 3" or less is fine, especially with minor trimming.
