Default broken ring gear tooth. help

so my jeep has been making a noise in the front diff. i decided to open it up and found a broken gear tooth and what looks like a piece of a shim stuck in between the ring and the carrier. it looks like the shim is from behind the pinion. what should i do? get a new ring & pinion, or get a whole axle from a junk yard?
