Default Broken o2 Sensor

My o2 sensor broke off when my Jeep fell off the jack while lifting it. It's been a week and a half, and my check engine light hasn't come on yet. And the light works, since I see it light up along with all the other lights when I turn the Jeep on. I haven't noticed anything really out of the ordinary yet.. Will I eventually? Just like poor MPGs? Or poor idling/acceleration? Where's the best place to buy this sensor, and are there different kinds? It cracked off at the manifold.

You probable see performance issues later. Poor mpg and fail smog test once the computer recognize that there are no readings. got jack stands?

Performance as in acceleration? Anything that'd prevent me from driving to and from work on the highway? Smog test not too worried about, I'm a 92, and the cutoff for emission testing is 96+. I'm wondering if I should spend the $50-60 this weekend at the local auto store, or if I have time to buy one from like RockAuto for $20-30.

You should change it. They can make a car miss and hard starts. But won't keep it from running.

Like everybody else said probably a good idea to get it replaced asap. But if it were me I would just order one from rockauto for the better price.

Absolutely get a new oxygen sensor in there. I recommend that you use NTK brand, which is the OEM brand for your vintage.

The O2 sensor is a very important sensor for proper engine management.

I took the exhaust (aftermarket) off an old jeep when I ripped mine off via stump.. it only had one o2 hole. I drove it around like that for awhile. At first my engine light would sometimes be on then sometimes be off. Later on it was always on.
I just recently added neon injectors, new plugs and got the hole tapped/added two new o2 sensors. Between those three, it runs much smoother and has more throttle response. I was getting about 185/190 miles per tank now Im up to 250/265. I can't pin it on any one thing but one of those three made a big difference

You can run like that for awhile with no major problems but I think for the 25bucks a 02 sensor is on RockAuto, might as well just replace it and save on gas.

That's pretty much what I'm going to do. Need a new fuel pump anyway, so might as well get both at the same time from RA, right?

Cheers guys.

Will this work for me?

It looks like it comes with everything, assuming I only need the cable and sensor. Says "w/ 15 1/2 inch wire; upstream" This is going to my manifold area, will that work?

Will this work for me? I'm buying online, so I don't want to buy the wrong thing.

Since my 92 only has one sensor, I'm assuming this will work? I also take it that it comes with a cable?

Is yours mounted before the CAT or after?

I didn't want to risk it, since I need this relatively soon, and I'm buying online so I can't easily exchange it.

Bought this instead: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/more...834&cc=1180112

Before, it's on the manifold in the front. I have an aftermarket cat and there's no mount for it on the new or old cat.
