broken clutch fork?

Default broken clutch fork?

lost pedal feel yesterday and cant get jeep into gear.. had a mechanic look at it and i was told its a broken fork? my question is where do get one and how hard is it to replace

i seriously doubt it would be a broken clutch fork. those are quite beefy.

common problem tho is the slave cylinder. could've blown a hose. unfortunately tho, chryco built them all as one complete unit.

either that or maybe, possibly a throw out bearing.... but check your clutch fluid/master.

fluid resovoir is full... my slave cyl does have a small leak, but never gave me any real problems,,,

its not a "clutch fork" its a throwout fork.


broke on mine too.... but mine would allow me to drive and every once in a while start acting up (pedel pressed to the floor and i would start rolling forward.... scary....)


like any trans mission work it requires dropping the trans. It can be done manuals are just big gear boxes realy easy to work on. it took me 1 weekend (3.5 years ago) to do. i dont remember it being that hard. just its a big heavy piece to deal with. btw this is on an ax-15.


if you go to a shop expect to pay about $1300 if you do it at home expect to pay about 200 + a few beers for your helper


you should be able to order it from a napa. if not call a local clutch shop
