I took some measurements in the driveway. Jeep totally empty inside (seats still in there) but with 3/4 tank gas.
Measurements are all from underside of fender flare to center of hub cover (center of axle).
Right Front 18.5"
Left Front 18 7/8"
Right Rear 17.5"
Left Rear 18.25"
225/75/15 tires w/33lbs. air
Concerns:
1. Do these measurements seem a bit 'tired' for an Up-Country suspension?
2. Are the differences from side to side something to be concerned about?
3. Plan on a BB lift of 2" only by using rear shackles and front spacers ....
Should I not go that route??
4. Only looking for 2" more of lift.
Thanks,
fast
P.S. Oh yeah, the right side front seat (drivers for this XJ) is definitly broken down to the right, so this Jeep was driven by a .... 'rotund' owner before me. For whatever that info might be worth.

The lean and the rear end being low is not only common, it's like a trademark of the XJ.
I call it the Cherokee Lean lol

As for the lift, if your just looking for 2inches you might be good with spacers, but try looking for a kit with all 4 springs if you wanna spend the money. Then you'll get like 5 inches out of the rear end just by getting rid of the tired leafs.

I have read all your posts on your XJ and it seems what you really need is to replace all your springs with a lift kit a 3". Reason what you have has quite a few years on it and they sag over time they all do period. My guess is that it would give you what yours had as far as lift when it left the factory or very close. A kit like Rustys 3" full spring package new coils and leaf springs will do wonders over spacers and shackles. I have been down that road and the ride suffers, as with all of the entry level kits the shocks suck.
IMHO and if you go in depth on the Bilstein 5100 shocks you will find they offer the best shock for both on and off roading. In fact I have Bilstein shocks on my GC "Overland" and it rides as well on the highway as my Lincoln Town Car, off road is well documented.
As with all things YMMY

Heres the correct way to mearsure ride height and lift: http://www.mike-g.net/jeep/yinyang/tech/rideheight/
Based on the numbers you posted you are almost Normal for Upcountry. Maybe a 1/2 to 1" of sag. The lean count be fixed buy swapping left and right springs. Asa far as lifting is concerned.. I'd decide what tires you want to run and lift accordingly. Remember TIRES add lift, a suspension lift adds tire clearance and flex.
