Default Broke bolt in Power Steering Box

So I was removing the 2 bolts holding the steering box in to get my new bumper on and one snapped off inside it. It broke on the end and is stuck in there. Tried vice grips, tried cleaning with WD40 then vice drips, then moved on to drilling. From the outside in it felt like we were drilling the sides, and not wanting to retap tried from the back side. Drilled part of it but it also drill some of the box(see pic). How could we get this out to put the new bolt in? Could we just put a knut on the other side and tighten it alot instead of retapping it if we drilled the threads?

I would get a little rotary tool out and try to grind it flat, drill it out. I wouldnt trust just putting a nut back on it.

Its kinda like a drill and it removes broken bolts. Any auto parts store should have them or maby even rent them.

they didnt have a bolt extractor but the hardware store had a easy out. Picked it up but is to small to fit all the way in from the front and the back is half drilled out. I could drill the rest of the back out but it will leave more marks like in the pic on post 1, is this bad to do or does it not make a difference?

Another thing you might try is using a reverse cut or left hand drill bit (Napa Auto, Hardware stores some auto parts stores) It will be turning the same direction that it would take to remove the bolt. If you had to, is there enough room to tap the hole out?

Im not sure I dont wanna somehow drill out the steering box. Tomorow Ill try getting a left hand bit and the easy out I got. If needed will a tap affect the steering at all? Dam I hate cold weather and snow in May shoulda been out already.
