Default Brights won't go off

I've been dealing with this issue for awhile now, finally have some time off and looking to fix it. The headlights work fine, but when I go from brights back to low beams, the brights stay on until I give the switch a little tap back towards me past the normal low beam position. It's a 2000 XJ. I've used contact cleaner with no fix, it started when it was really cold and would do it until it warmed up in the Jeep. Now it is all the time. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Likely need the multifunction switch. It's the high/low and signals with the lever included. I thought nontheyre pike $60 or so. But that's for the Mopar part. Aftermarkets are cheaper.

That's what I was thinking, I just put a new one on 2 years ago so was hoping there was another easy fix maybe I was missing if it wasn't actually bad. Thanks for the input

I had the same issue with a new switch after a few months, but my switch was an aftermarket from autozone not oem.

Good to know, I'll grab the OEM switch this time. Thanks
