do the brights work if you just pull the lever (flash the beams or pass)? you say you are running h4 harness did you convert from a standard sealed beam bulb?

Did you get a headlight setup that actually has High/Low option? I have looked for HIDs, but I have seen that most don't have a high option at all. That is what I would double check first.

Haha, I drive around with my brights on all the time, nobody notices, the low beams are so dim you can't see by them at all

The H4 harness you have uses 2 relays. One for the dim lights, one for the brights. Your XJ still has stock headlights and if the high beam in one of the lights is burned out, it'll affect both.

Check your relays (switch the plugs from one relay to the other and see if you only get high beams instead of low beams...... that'll tell you that one of the relays is bad. You can get them from Pep Boys in the aux. lights section (part #NVRY). Otherwise, you'll probably need to replace one of the headlights.

You should also probably disconnect the H4 harness from the factory headlight plug, then plug a known good headlight into that factory headlight plug and ensure that circuit is actually sending power to the high beams.

......... Now...... about those parts you STILL owe me. What's the plan Brandon?
