The silverstars are a great upgrade. I went to replace a burnt out light the other day and they didn't have the silverstars in stock, so I got a pair of Sylvania Xtravision lamps and they turned out to be pretty darn good too. They provide much better output than stock, falling only slightly short of the Silverstars!

If your looking for the best lighting possible I would go with a HID set-up. If your looking for a good bolt in, the Silverstars are a great choice, I run them in both of my XJ's.

Silverstars can usually be found at your local autozone/advance auto parts store redmuck. We even have them at our local Wal-Fart down here. And it is just a replacement for your factory sealed beam headlight, basically a higher quality OEM style assembly. Should only be about 17-20 bucks per lamp for silverstars.

The "K" rating is the color of the bulb. 4000K = white/yellowish 8000k= purple. Light output is not measured in this manner.
The higher the K number the less usable light the bulb makes too, so consider that next time you want blue halogen headlight bulbs.
I like 6000K HID bulbs for their output and color. Most OEM HID bulbs are 4300k, which give the most usable light.
