brighter stock lighting?

Need to buy new headlights for my 98 cheokee. the sylvania silverstars (#6054)look the best so far as far as conveneince/pricing goes. anyone know if there is a noticible difference from stock to these or do i have to make a greater step?

thats the best bang for your buck.

that was the first mod i did.....the silverstars are woth it....

The silverstars are a great upgrade. I went to replace a burnt out light the other day and they didn't have the silverstars in stock, so I got a pair of Sylvania Xtravision lamps and they turned out to be pretty darn good too. They provide much better output than stock, falling only slightly short of the Silverstars!

If your looking for the best lighting possible I would go with a HID set-up. If your looking for a good bolt in, the Silverstars are a great choice, I run them in both of my XJ's.

where do u find these silverstars at? are they the whole housing? or just the bulb? will they work on my 91? i replaced mine when one burned out and it said it was brighter then stock, but i cant tell the difference. i think they were ge ones but not sure. come to think of it the silverstars sound familiar. ill check autozone and advance auto websites.

Silverstars can usually be found at your local autozone/advance auto parts store redmuck. We even have them at our local Wal-Fart down here. And it is just a replacement for your factory sealed beam headlight, basically a higher quality OEM style assembly. Should only be about 17-20 bucks per lamp for silverstars.

there 4000K also....i think the lowest HID is 4400K...so they are awesome.

cherokee4meplz 12-28-2008 11:38 AM

The "K" rating is the color of the bulb. 4000K = white/yellowish 8000k= purple. Light output is not measured in this manner.

The higher the K number the less usable light the bulb makes too, so consider that next time you want blue halogen headlight bulbs.

I like 6000K HID bulbs for their output and color. Most OEM HID bulbs are 4300k, which give the most usable light.

Ive got the XtraVisions myself. Happy but Im going to put a set of Hella 500s on it.

redmuck 12-29-2008 05:43 PM

yea i did see them in walmart as just bulbs though and on the parts stores websites. if one of mine burn out next year some time, ill replace them with those. thanx!
