Default Breather Tube From Front Dif?

I had heard a thumping of some sort every few min driving to and from town on the highway from the front undserside of my jeep. I looked underneath and found what seemed to be a breather tube or something was sitting on my front driveshaft and was getting worn through by it. Now im wondering if this is essential and ill have to spice in a joiner in at the break or if i can cut it and just mount it up somewhere in the engine compartment.

If you get into any water then splce it together and mount the terminal end as high as possible. Some route it into a breather of some sort.

If this is the breather tube coming from your front diff. housing, it is not essential for driving on the road. You will DEFINITELY want to get it secured up and away from your drive shaft right away. You will also DEFINITELY want to get a new piece of hose on there that goes up into the engine bay at or above engine air intake level before you go off road, especially in water. The idea is that your diff. needs to breathe and you don't want to suck any water into the diff through that hose. Hot gears + cold water = stuff expands actually sucking water right into your diff. housing.

It seems Buck and I agree but I think a graft will work until you re-do the vents with some longer hose.

I plan on moving all my vents. I bought several small breather filters off Ebay instead fuel filters
