replacing the factory hose that goes to the air box with that filter is a nono that hose is there to draw crank case pressure from the motor during acceleration and load conditions the small one in the rear of the valve cover is to draw crankcase pressure out at idle

you can do that but i some intakes have a spot to connect the hose so you wouldnt have to do that

I use one to filter the incoming air for my A/C OBA conversion. Unless you did some modification to your motor or air filter box I cannot think of any reason why you would need one.

oil may try and shoot out of it so you'll just have to wash it sometimes so it dont get clogged

if crankcase pressure is not drawn out oil will be forced out by the pressure from ,dip stick tube, and any other weak areas where gaskets are used to keep oil from leaking during normal usages

That's the reason I put it for that and I keep getting nasty air in my heater also

is the smaller line in the rear of the valve cover plugged ,or the vacuum source on intake plugged

I beleve this is what your trying to do hope the pix help.




Only change i made since i did the intake was adding a heat/mud sheald..


Eta, been running this setup for about a year with no problem.
