Brand new blower motor immediately burnt out
My quarantine project has been to tackle the dreaded heater core replacement. I decided to completely rebuild the HVAC box while I had it out, so I replaced the AC evap and blower motor as well.
When I put it back together and started it up, no air came from the fan, and white smoke started coming from the vents almost immediately. I ultimately ended up pulling the HVAC box back out and found that the brand new blower motor was completely burnt out.
Any ideas what might have caused this?

You dont say what year you have, but probably a faulty motor out of the box, as the item has a 30A fuse (on my vehicle)
30A is a lot though, so if the fan was mechanically jammed, that may pull enough current to burn the motor, without blowing the fuse
with 20/20 hindsight its often a good idea to hook up electricals to see if they work prior to installation....do the motor/blades spin ?
