Default Brakes and stering colum

I have 91 Cherokee, has the crappy brake system on it so I go to do upgrade. get my master cylinder and booster from junk yard but the push rod from booster to pedal is to long. And if I shim it out enough I want have enough thread on stud to put nuts on. Also need steering colum. What year model do I need to get booster\mastercylinder out of that will work? And also steering colum? Please help as I am going to try to get this done tomorrow.

i did the booster upgrade too, but i didn't worry about the rod length. sure, my pedal is up a bit higher, but it's easy to get used too.

as for the column, anything from 91 to 95 should hook right up.

Longer shaft shouldn't matter.

BTW you've got some great scenery out that way!

Looks like I would have to move tail light switch. The pedal comes back and hits it.

not too sure on the 91, but my 90 had the brake light switch mounted to the pedal rod.
but on my tj, the brake light switch was mounted to the dash. it has a plunger type switch, so if your pedal hits it, try pulling the pedal up all the way to push the switch plunger in to where it needs to be.

if yours looks like this

then that black plastic part is a plunger. you can push the pedal in with your hand, then pull the black part of the switch all the way out with your fingers, then simply pull up on the pedal to click the plunger back in to the required position.

The brake light switch on your TJ is just like the 97+'s.

I've got the booster and MC from my 98 I'm swapping over to my 94, any fitment issues or anything I should expect?

The brake light switch automatically adjusts for changes in brake pedal movement. It has .5-.75" of travel built in.
