Default brakes

I have a 96 Cherokee, problem is brakes just started failing. Pedal is real hard and when you press the pedal and hold it down its like you hear air . Fluid is full, no visable leakes..... Any help would be greatly appreciated, jeep belongs to my daughter in college.

Sounds like the break booster is going out. You can find them cheap most people upgrade to the zj booster for better stopping power.

this is very true, but i think since his is a 96, he should already have the duel diaphragm booster. it does sound like your booster is going out though.
