Default Brake rotor and drum sizes?

I have a 1993 XJ Country. Everywhere I look or ask about front brake rotors or back brake shoes I have to choose between two sizes... what gives?? How do I know what I have?? It is beyond impractical for me to remove my wheels and break out a measuring device. One place ask if it is a police package and another ask if the back breaks are 9 inch or 10 inch... Ahhh crap.

Why not? how else do you plan on finding out what size drum you have?

ID your rear axle. A D35 would be 9" brakes.. the 8.25 "might" be 10", not 100% sure on that but a google search should be definative.

The earlier XJ D44 rears are 10" as well.

what happens when you get a flat lol

U can see the drum from the inside of the rear wheel, all u need is ruler.

pretty sure my c81/4 was 10" if any axle would have smaller drums it would be the 35

I don't get flats. However... if by some chance the winds were not in my favor and a mighty flood washes a bunch of tire flattening things my way and then my tire(s) burst some how... well, I would be walking for sure.

Eventually I will have money and I will have the tires and equipment I would need to change a flat. Time and money... life sucks sometimes. At least my girlfriend is good looking and loves me.

its okay, i lost my tire iron kicking some kids out of my friends house party, managed to find a new one at the metal scrapping yard haha stole it from their pile.

Idea about your gf,
We should start a pic thread and see who can get the most fly chicks in their XJ, that would certainly bring some new members to this site.
