Brake question
When I replaced my hubs I forgot to put the cover on for the brakes(check picture) is that piece really necessary? Doesn't seem like it does much?

It's just a splash shield for the rotors to keep water/mud/debris off... it does serve a purpose but it's not super mission critical. Personally I'd put 'em back on but that's just me (i'd run them through the electrolytic derust tank first though and paint them, but that's cause I'm **** retentive)

Not a critical part and not life or death but they do save your rotors and such from dirt and debris..clean em up and throw em back on

They can also do the opposite of what they're supposed to and catch crap and rub it against the rotor, fwiw I left mine off lol.
Also if they're off then you don't gotta worry about them getting bent into the rotor and have you looking for some stupid new noise.
It's all personal choice on this one!

The only concern I would have is clearence and the tightness of the hub bolts without the shim effect of the dust shield. If it all checks out I would just leave them off. I've had them do more harm than good with them getting bent into the rotor and packing up with mud.

Thanks for the opinions guys!!! I think I will leave them off until I A.) have a problem or B.) have to change the hubs
