brake pedal squeek

my brake pedal is squeeky. not the brakes..just the pedal. can i just spray wd40 or something? when i release the pedal it squeeks and its annoying.

turn up the radio................OR
spray down the pedal assy...i would use white lithium grease because it doesnt drip.
