Default Which Brake pads on ZJ?

Folks,

A bit of request from your experience. I am about to buy brake pads. Saw many options at Rockauto, from semi-metal to ceramic.

In the past I never bothered about the type of pads... actually never had the option of choosing.

What shall I go for? I use the car most in the road, eventually cross water/mud/sand and the biggest concern to me is to come to a quick stop regardless of whatever consequence - may wear quicker, produce more dust... as long as it has the best breaking performance, that is the one I choose.

Any reason for the front & rear being different type?

Advice wellcome!

Thanks!

I'm a big fan of Hawk LTS pads on trucks.

I use the Hawk pads on my XJ and my race cars excellent stopping power, less fade but they do cost a bit more than the others.

Yeah, track pads are expensive. I just ordered a set of Hawk DTC-60s that were $225.
