Exclamation Brake lights/ turn signals/ instrument panel lights not working

Hello everyone! This site has been a great wealth of knowledge for me and for my 94 XJ!! So my problem is my brake lights /turn signals instrument panel lights do not work. All my running lights work and my hazard lights all work. Can't figure this one out. Could it be the multi switch even though my hazard lights work? I have checked all fuses. Being that the hazard lights work I'm assuming the turn signal bulbs are fine. I'll check the brake light bulbs also appear to be fine. I have check the voltage on the third brake light as the pedal is pressed with no voltage showing. Oh yeah and instrument panel.... Anyarty help on this one would be GREAT! Thanks for your response.

With no voltage showing you have a wiring problem. Start tracing wires

did you check all the fuses? ground? wiring? your gonna have to do some eliminating processes...

I started with fuses, bulbs, wiring, and it ended up being the ground.

Okay so mysteriously my brakes and turn signal started working again I'm thinking it's a ground problem. However still my instrument panel lights are not coming on. Took apart the dash halfway and test the bulb socket for the defrost button. No power. I went through a dozen or more connections. Checked all of them for corrosion/ bad connection and appear to be fine. Checked all fuses with my meter all were good. Does anyone have any idea what exact fuse number is for the instrument panel? 94 xj sport. Thanks for the help everyone!
