Brake Lights
So the other day My brake Lights Stopped working.. and one of these got unplugged and Then i plugged it back in and then they worked.. But yesterday they stopped working again and I re looked and they are still attached in this i unplugged it in this picture. Can that Thing go bad or what? My BULBS are still all good fuses are all NEW AND GOOD i checked.

And out of Curiosity i Touched the blue wire with a POWER wire and my brake lights turned on.. so is the thing it is connected to a relay of some sort?

Running Lights

checked all fuses EVERY thing is good.

My switch works for my Head lights it just does not turn on my Running Lights. Does anyone know how to toggle the Running lights?

the switch works for my headlights so it should still be good correct? if someone can tell me how to toggle them it would be greatly appreciated

The first pic is of your brake light switch. Just replace with a new one and you should be good.

Its not about the way it looks, the problem is that it can look good and be worn out. The switch mounts to the pedal assembly with the same pin that connects the pedal to the master cylinder, so with time it wears out and stops working.

Clean up those terminals!!! they look like crap. You probably aren't getting proper contact.

Default Conclusion??

Hey Robert,

I'm glad that I found this post because the same darned thing JUST happened to me. I have a new switch on order and I will pick it up tomorrow BUT it sounds like that was not your problem.

What happened with your situation? Did you finally fix the "no brake light" scenario and if so, how???

ANY help would be appreciated!! So I will absolutely thank you in advance on this one.

Thank you,

EB

Wow, this appears to happen a lot!

I have similar issues:

- brake lights work, but the rear running lights do not (checked bulbs and fuses)
- headlights won't go off - permanently on high

I ended up removing the 40A headlight fuse so I don't have to disconnect the battery anymore when I park the damn thing.

Removed part of the dash and the headlight switch - will order a new one.

Curious whether the headlight switch controls the rear running lights, or whether I need to replace the brake switch too.

I used this thread to help remove the switch, in case anyone else needs it:
