i am not to familiar with drum brakes so any help would be great. my driver side rear is leaking brake oil from inside the drum. and now i have no fluid in the m/c the brake like is not attached to the drum but is still connected inside. what do i do?

 

sounds like you have a bad wheel cylinder,you need to replace it,they are pretty cheap

If the brake line is disconnected it will leak also. The brake line is screwed into the wheel cylinder. The wheel cylinder is the pitons that activate the brake drum.

 

are you talking about the drum its self,or the backing plate that is bolted to the axle tub?

have you pulled the wheel and brake drum off yet to see if its snapped off inside the slave cylinder or just loose?

 

no i haven't. if you go under the jeep you can see its not connected but when you tug on it you cant pull the line out

 

your gunna need to take off the wheel and drum to really get a good look is my suggestion

i just wanna say thanks for the help on this it was my wheel cylinder i got it changed unfortunately i broke my brake line in the process, and its my only vehicle. i am taking to a shop a block form my house to sort out my overheating issues and im gunna have them change the line while its there. once again thanks for the help
