HELP!

I recently did the upgrade to the 99 booster and MC for my 89 XJ. I'm having serious trouble getting my brake light switch to move when I'm pressing the pedal. I had someone weld spots on the corners so that the rod was flat so it would engage, but I'm thinking that since this rod doesn't have a slope it's not working???? Everyone else seems to have figured it out. Any advice?!?!?!?!

i had absolutely no problems with my swap.
i honed out the hole, ground the end flat for the brake light switch, unbolted the prop valve body and mounted it to the original spot.
yeah the brake pedal rod is longer, but i didn't do anything with that, left it as is. just had to get used to the higher pedal.

best upgrade i've done. and i kept the rear drums. i like it that way.
