Exclamation Brake bleeding problem??? Help.

Hello I come to you with my dillema.
Me and my buddy were bleeding my brake with the engine off and I would have him pump the brake pedal 10-15 times and hold it to the floor and over and over and over. So many bottles of brake fluid and Still no stiffness to the pedal, But if you pump the pedal about 50 times it gets stiff but spongy and the brakes work then. If I stop pumping them though they go away. So then me and my friend tried bleeding the brakes with the engine on, and to no prevail and many attempts pumping pumping pumping no stiffness to the pedal at all. Im stumped. Can someone please help me out?

Ever tried reverse bleeding? It is what I do with motorcycles all the time. Get a flavor injector and hook it up to the bleed nipple with flex tubing. Fill with brake fluid and with the MC cap off slowly push the brake fluid into the caliper until the bubbles stop. Repeat with the other 3 sides if necessary.

Also I noticed when I had the metal cap off on the master cylinder after you pump the brakes the fluid would come shooting back up in the master.

I have the same problem. I even replaced the master 2 times thinking I got a bad master. I have bleed and bleed. I can stop but the padel is to the floor.

Have not ever had this trouble with the brakes.

I usually can gravity bleed and then a few pumps and done.

The parts guy said its the booster? I am not sure how the booster would make my brakes go to the floor.

Thanks

Wow. That`s a lot of pumping for something not to get stiff! I have several questions. Why were you bleeding the system anyway? Have you just changed something? If you did change something..why? 10-15 times pumping it is way to much anyway. 3-4 usually enough. My first suggestion would be to check if the power brake booster is working as without that nothing else is going to work. I`ll check back for updates.

I changed the the line off the splitter block to the flexible line on the drivers side. And put new copper pressure washers on the banjo bolts on both sides and the brake pads. And Also I noticed when I had the metal cap off on the master cylinder after you pump the brakes the fluid would come shooting back up in the master.

sounds like the master cylinder. the diafram is probly going out. look at your fire wall on both sides. do you see any pealing paint or fliud? if you keep putting fliud in it had to be coming out somewhere. also if you have to bleed the brakes on your own go get some vacum hose and put long ebough pieces to put over the bleeder valves and extend to the ground. put the other end in a mason jar and fill the jar about half full. do this to all 4 tires. crack all the valves. watch the fliud lvl in the master cylinder. slowly pump your brakes. about every 10 or so pumps check the master cylinder. do this till no mare air come out of the lines. tighen everything up and check your brakes. this will bleed system.

This is the same problem that happened to my jeep before... Main cause was the master cylinder...
