Is Bondo(ing) my rocker panels not at all recommended?
Well, here's the deal:
I am a broke college student about to go back to school but I need some stuff done to my Jeep first.
The good news is that I am gettin her lifted 3" and adding some 31's!
The bad news is that my rocker panels are a little rusty and one has a hole in it. I realize that their ultimate replacement is inevitable. But, for now, would it suffice for me to patch that hole with bondo, shoot some Por-15 on the rust and hit up to the trim with some Duplicolor spray-on bedliner?
Although I know Bondo sucks and attracts moisture, I do not want to do the full replacement until after the football season when I can start working again and will have more money.
I know crappy rockers may compromise the overall structural integrity but I am not really concerned about that right now as the only off roading I do is in deep snow and mud.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I wouldn't do the bondo. The rockers twist with the unibody and will eventually just crackle out. Let em rust till you can afford the 2x4 or 2x6 cutout

It'll work "for now" as a cosmetic fix, but the rust will continue to work it's magic and the bondo will fall out in short order. I bent up some new ones out of sheet metal when mine went. Helps to have a neighbor in HVAC with a sheet metal brake.
I've seen posts where folks have replaced them with 2X4" or so box steel tubing and it really looks nice. Might give that a thought when the time comes.
