Bolt size on rear shock fix.
I've read through a bunch of fixes for the broken bolts on the top mounts for rear shocks.
Im going to try the "punch the broken bolt through" & then fish a new bolt through the hole.
I need to know the type & size of bolt I should be buying? I haven't had a chance to get under the jeep yet & im planning on picking up the bolts on my way home from work tonight.

SS is always a good idea, as is Grade 8 strength.

FYI, theres NO WAY I was getting a 1.5" bolt fished through that hole... The bolt head kept hitting the bottom of the body & wouldn't make the turn...
So for anyone else thats going to attemp this project make sure you get 5/16"x1" bolts... It will make your life much easier!!!
I had to make a last minute trip back to the hardware store & when I got back it was already getting dark. Had to finish in my driveway using a camping lantern... lol

I did it by drilling the bolts out and retapping the holes to 3/16x13. A right angle drill helps. The bigger bolts fit the shocks perfectly, with no play.

I had already went through drilling & tapping twice, so I figured it was time for another fix.
This one seems to be solid, so im hoping it lasts...
