What is the upper rear shock mount bolt size? I need to replace one and don't feel like going through the trouble of matching it up with bolts at the store. Thanks.

If you haven't already taken them all out I'm willing to bet that they are going to snap when you try to unbolt them. I bought a 5/16 tap and bolts when I did mine.

I just scraped my rear sway bar and used the brackets as b.p.e's, will never have to deal with broken upper shock bolts again and can use any shock without bar pins.

They won't.... I've unbolted them before and my jeep doesn't have any rust.

I tapped the rear mount And put 3/8 bolts in already. I need to know the stock size just to keep spares for my stock XJ.

They're either 5/16"-18x1" or M8-1.25x25m/m, the later ones may be ISO. Get a handful of both, just in case (you'll use them somewhere.)

Apply never-seez to those threads, or you're going to snap off the next batch as well. I got lucky the last couple of times I had to do this the first time on a rig - I tapped them with a punch to loosen them up, and they came right out. Set the punch and fetch it one good whack with a a mallet, which will help break up light rust and accumulated crud.
