Default body lift and starter trouble

Ok guys, i read alot but dont post much so heres a quick bio on my jeep. I bought a stock 96 xj sport in February. I bought this car as a project to learn how to work on cars, i didn't know anything about repairing them. I have now installed alot of new parts. Including a new a starter. The starters about two months old and was working just fine. But in the last few days it has been giving me a problem. When i try to start the car after it sits over an hour, it just gives one click and doesn't start. If i hold down the gas and keep turning the key it starts up. What's the problem and how can i fix it? Also, i installed a 3" skyjacker lift (coil springs, front and rear shocks and leaf packs) with 31" tires. I am looking to add a body lift now anywhere between 1.5"-3", what will i need? I know i will need coil spring isolators for the front and AAL or blocks for the back, but what else? Like i said, i am learning on the job and any information you provide would be appreciated.

if you have installed starters and a lift kit you probably have noticed the frame rails are a part of the body.

aka no body lifts on xj's.

as for the starter issue check your battery cables and battery. could be a loss of voltage or battery is on its way out

As for the body lift, you would need a non unibody vehicle.
sorry no body lifts on the xj's .

I bought the rusty's 4.5" full spring pack lift and i am very happy. but there is a ton more options out there. look in this thread https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/all-lift-tire-questions-go-here-10579/ and you will most likely find the answers you are looking for. good luck

ok, well again i am new to cars. I thought a body lift was the coil spring isolators and blocks or AAL, witch i know they sell for xj's. Ok so if i just get new 4.5" leaf packs and isolators for the front, what else do i need. Do i need a longer drive-shaft, or just a transfer-case drop kit? Do i need new brake lines, lower or upper control arms, track bar? I would like to do this install myself so i need to know whats needed. I am from toledo, ohio where my jeep was made so i figured the jeep "specialist" shops around town could help me. But they all seem to contradict each other and i trust everyone on heres opinion more

Sounds like you have already spent some time and money on a lift. You could do some rear shackles (I don't like to recommend blocks), and an inch or two front coil spacer, do some trimming and fit 32's maybe 33's. Just depends on how big you are trying to go. Your best bet may be to just buy a whole new kit, sell the old one and cut your losses. Just my two cents
