Has anyone used their old a/c compressor for an on board air system if so I would love to see it and find out how well it worked out .
I'm planning this mod as well. I want to use my bumpers as tanks for the system, once complete. FYI, I touched the wire coming off of the A/C compressor to the hot terminal of my battery, and that thing puts out some air!! I only ran it for a couple of seconds, because there was no oiler on it. I was in the process of removing all unnessacary A/C related items, and thought I'd check it out. Now I can't wait to get it done, but it will be a project for another winter.

I had a buddy that did it on his big ole bronco... Used a 6in tube front bumper for the tank... Hooked up a guage for pressure reading and quick disconnect for his spring style air line... Also put it all on a toggle switch instead so he could cut it on and off easier... Said the defrost played with it when he used the reg controls cause the compressor would turn on... Couldnt tell you how much pressure would build up... Thats kinda the important part... I would guess every compressor would force there own amount...
it must be nice to live in states that you don't need to use the ac. it gets into the 110's around here and i love the air. i am just planning to get the viaair system after i save some bucks up.

Did mine two years ago. works great! Google it there are several writeups on it, and your sanden will work with an inline oiler. you can also add tool oil to the intake port once in awhile, but an inline oiler is a nobrainer.

On a side note guys, I just bought a new compressor, cause mine was stolen. I went with one from Pep Boys called Tsunami, I believe Jeepthing uses one as well. The thing is freakin awesome. I've used it to air up the wife's spare tire, and it flat out worked great!! Comes in a bag, with a nice coiled hose, and at $60.00, you can't beat the price!! It clips directly to the battery, because it draws too much current for a cig lighter. The thing has a detachable muffler, and when it's running, it's very quite. It doesn't vibrate all over the place like my old one did either!! If you're in the market for a low budget, good air compressor, I highly recommend it!!
