How it cracks? Most likely caused by heat cycles and mechanical stresses or a defect in the flex plate. Some crack some don't...some catastrophically fail where the flex plate turns into 2 pieces.

well no it dont sound like that and i was just see if it could cause more damage then it all ready has but after listen to that vid it dont even sound like that

I'm pretty sure the piston return springs are going bad. Pretty common on 97-01 Xj's with that mileage. Is yours the Canadian GT model?

ya ok not trying to be a **** hole but the flex plate aint in the oil pan i and him well runing put a hand on the oil pan and could just feel what ever was broke smackin the bottom and sides of it really fast and hard and another thing is the two lower bolts on the timing cover pulled out well it was runnin y would they do that and we tighten them back up and after about a min they unthreaded again
Things dont jsut roll around your oil pan. That would mean somethin would have to be broken off from somewhere in which case it shouldnt be running. It may be a rod bearing or something. Id pull the pan and see what you find.
